What are the Blocks in the vocabulary curriculum?
Bedrock's vocabulary curriculum is divided into Blocks. Here's a more detailed explanation of how they work...
- Bedrock's vocabulary content is structured using a Block system which usually contains between 10 and 12 topics covering a range of fiction and non-fiction texts in our digital library.
- Each topic contains six lessons covering a range of Tier 2 vocabulary relating to that level.
- Every topic contains book-end testing, which collates pre and post-vocabulary knowledge added to every learner's digital knowledge organiser and ties into our teaching algorithm.
What levels are each Block?
Our Blocks currently range from 3 to 12 (each broadly equivalent to a year's worth of curriculum content from Year 3 to Year 12) and our advanced library is coming soon.
All learners are at different levels, and our baseline test (known as the Alpha test) assigns a Block based on their results.
